Excerpts from Paradise

“The One who turned His compass to mark the world’s confines, and in them to set so many things concealed

and things revealed,

could not imprint His power into all the universe without His Word remaining in infinite excess of such a vessel.

In proof of this, the first proud being, he who was the highest of all creations, fell –

unripe, because he did not wait for light.”

~Dante

“The sword that strikes from Heaven’s height is neither hasty nor slow, except as it appears to him who waits for it – who longs or fears.”

~Beatrice

  1. You are here now. It will be Heaven or Hell, as you wish. Paradise is in your point of view of your existence. pg

    • Yes as it has been said, “The mind can make a heaven of hell, or a hell of heaven.” Hopefully it doesn’t take us too many decades to figure it out ;) :D

      I think of these principles as the law of attention and the laws of thought. To the degree we understand these, we can make progress and be productive. To the degree that we do not apply the law of attention and the laws of thought, we experience chaos and continued harassing circumstances, or waste. So yes, I agree, we are the makers of ourselves and our experiences to a greater extent than most imagine, and it is our thoughts that make us. Most imperative of all for Zarathustra was good thought.

      But in Paradiso, Dante is talking about a “place” which is spiritual, and is outside of space and time; that is, a “place” where those whose bodies are buried and returned to dust have gone. There is no more grey matter, no more heartbeat – those apparatus’ we use for thinking. The material, outward person has perished, along with all of its needs and affections.

      What part of us survives the death of the body is another question.

  2. That “place” is neither heaven nor hell, it just is what you have made it by your treatment of others that are there. Everything has an EMF “soul” created by it’s matter and it’s activities. That organization of energy has a continuance and can be conflicted or assisted by the energies of others. pg

  3. Well in that case, PG, may your EMF long be assisted in abundant continuance, and in exquisite organization of energy! (;

    PS. Is EMF Electromotive Force, Electromagnetic Force, or Electromagnetic Frequency?

  4. Generally;
    EMF: Electro Motive Force, used to denote the totality of all electronic or electric phenomena that effects other things. In electrical philosophy every electron in the universe can “feel” the activities of every other electron.

    EM: Electro Magnetic, used to describe the existence of the magnetic component of EMF.

    As all effects are part of the same package I am not sure if you can have one effect or force without the others. Many writers use these terms interchangeably.

    Beware of “Vampires” that suck up your energies or life force, as they are devoid of their own. pg
